Welcome to Tafsiri. We are a clothing brand based in Nairobi, Kenya, telling African stories through premium streetwear. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit tafsiri.co.ke, how we use it, and the rights you have under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.
By using our website you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
We collect information that you give us directly, and information that is collected automatically as you browse.
You provide to us: name, email, phone number, delivery address, and payment details when you register, place an order, or contact us. We never see or store your full M-PESA PIN or full card number — those go directly to the payment provider.
Collected automatically: IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, products clicked, and approximate location. We use this to improve the site and understand what our customers like.
We use your data only for the following purposes:
• Processing orders — confirming purchases, arranging delivery, and handling returns.
• Customer support — replying to your questions over email, phone or WhatsApp.
• Improving the store — understanding which products are popular and which pages confuse people.
• Marketing — sending order updates and (only if you opt in) occasional newsletters about new drops.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone. Ever.
Our site uses small files called cookies and similar technologies (like localStorage) to remember your cart, wishlist and recently viewed products even after you close the browser.
We also use Microsoft Clarity, which records anonymised session activity (clicks, scrolls, mouse movement) so we can spot usability issues and fix them. Clarity does not record passwords, payment fields, or anything you type into hidden inputs.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time — the site will still work, but your cart will reset on each visit.
We share your information only with trusted partners that help us run the business:
• Safaricom M-PESA — to process mobile money payments.
• Courier partners — to deliver your order. They only receive your name, address and phone number.
• Formspree — to deliver contact-form and signup messages to our team email.
• Microsoft Clarity — anonymised browsing analytics, as described above.
We may also disclose information if required by Kenyan law (for example, a court order or a tax audit). We will never share more than what is strictly necessary.
Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019 you have the right to:
• Ask us what personal data we hold about you.
• Request that we correct any inaccurate details.
• Ask us to delete your account and personal data.
• Object to or restrict how we process your information.
• Withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@tafsiri.co.ke. We will respond within 30 days.
We protect your information with HTTPS encryption, secure hosting, and limited internal access. Payment data is handled by Safaricom and never stored on our servers.
We keep your order history for as long as you have an account, plus seven years to meet Kenyan tax and accounting requirements. After that it is permanently deleted. Marketing data is deleted as soon as you unsubscribe.
If a data breach ever occurs, we will notify affected customers and the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner without delay, as required by law.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, when we add a new payment method or analytics tool. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always shows the most recent revision.
